[Resolved] AVG won't let you play rf

I put it in safe mode but it cut off my internet. Like there's a little x icon next to the Internet icon so I can't start up rf. Is that supposed to happen?

 

I restarted my pc over 10 times.

 

Restart your computer using Safe Mode with Networking.

you always had this problem or it comes and goes? Did you do windows update yet?

 

I quit rr for a while and decided to come back. Mind you before I came quit I never once had a problem starting up rf. So on may 14th the day I come back I started having problems starting up rf and no one was helping so I was like forget it I'll come back on a later date which is today. So I'm guessing it came out of nowhere.




And to answer your question no I did not do a Windows update it takes a long time to check if I'm up to date or not I'm going to try again though.

 

I guess you can say the safe mode thing worked but do I have to stay in this mode to actually play rf? And it's in a weird format when you try to put the game in full screen mode.

 

Do the windows update and tell me how it goes.

 

Rf also does not show up in task manager

 

rf tends to hide when you use windows 8 sometimes, try downloading process explorer to close rf properly.

 

I followed this mans tutorial on how to get Windows to check for an update if it's not working I deleted the files and everything but it's still taking hours upon hours on checking for a update I don't even know what to do anymore

 

Go to start up in task manger and make AVG not start when you turn your computer then restart your computer.

did you start off AVG in startup tab in task manager?

When was the last time you were able to update your operating system using Windows Update? And what operating system did you say you were currently using?

What do I do after I disabled the start up from avg in the task manager? Do I try to update it? If so I'm about to do that right now.
