Hey I have a question for anyone PC savvy, my brother built me a desktop with some parts I bought and this is the build. PSA: I know basically nothing about building a PC so be nice I have two things nagging me about what I got in the end. 1, my CPU says "Kaby Lake" but what I actually purchased was this "Coffee Lakes" processor \ Also if you notice the ram says "16GB unknown" and I googled it and it says speccy sometimes cannot recognize some RAM cards but the one I purchased is pretty popular also I think its under performing? This is the ram I bought My brother put this together for me... Did he switch the processor out for a cheaper one..? He also plays games and I googled "Coffee Lakes" is much better than "Kaby Lakes" for gaming... I also had to switch the motherboard I bought at first because it was incompatible... Also whats up with the ram? Am I just not understanding what i'm seeing or its also incompatible/under performing?
Hi @Hercule, You can compare the information with dxdiag to see if it matches with the information with Speccy. To launch dxdiag, just search for it in your Windows Start Menu search bar.
@Starberry this is what it says, no "name" on the processor when I do this and it does say 16gb but when I play RF I literally see my character run like a ps2 glitch with my pixels sorta leaving an after image when my character moves and when I input keystrokes they register slow...
Looks good to me. It does check out as a i5-9600K (which is a Coffee Lake processor). Does Windows Task Manager register the RAM as DDR4?
dam nice i built two pcs the one i have right now got 20gb ddr4 amd ryzen 5 2600 nvidia geforce gtx 1050ti (outdated lowkey) 1tb hd (soon to be ssd aswell i hope)
