I like what you said here, but the damage is actually decent. This is coming from someone who would 1v1 it on a regular. 3-4 combos (p p kkpp) = death no crits. The first punch is yes bad but it has a bit of anti-air which MAY stop someone trying to get away from you. The combos also work exactly like krav...if there's lag it will glitch.

 

Its got some over average damage wtf
First punch is meant to catch jumpers
Its not an edge based scroll clearly so why are you angling things anyway

I'm glad this discussion is brought up. I'm also looking into the whole scroll vs skill issue.

 

There's a drop off at some point though.

On equal skill levels, a new age scroll is somewhat likely going to out do an older scroll. With exceptions like the top 10 box scrolls

Yeah I can agree with that. The newer scrolls will always have the potential to become stronger than the top 10 scrolls. Exos, there's no doubt that they matter.

But ultimately, I'm very neutral with this issue. Skill does matter a lot, and scrolls can sometimes matter a lot too (if they didn't matter, we wouldn't ban scrolls during serious matches).

 

Isnt the only people who ban the scrolls in a serious match players? Not RF officials?

 

RF officials as in like tournaments? Usually there are certain scrolls that are banned based on the community input.

No. Some scrolls are just not suited for tournaments. Would you really want to fight someone using Hunter? The damage alone is ridiculously high but that counter too?

Honestly I don't find hunter scary...If you just fight around them...they cant counter you

 

Hunter is currently banned by the players themselves in official 1v1s
Just like gw, the player base that plays it will ban anything that completely breaks the mode

 

Personal experience means nothing

 

Hunter users are really predictable. The scroll has decent combos but the counter is super punishable.

 

This whole post is about personal experience. Your personal skill and understanding of a scroll should be what makes it great or not. Not how its built

 

Depends really. There are 1v1ers who utilize the scroll really well.
