[Resolved] AVG won't let you play rf

It's still taking forever to check for a update

Yeah it just keeps checking for updates with a loading screen dots

 

Windows 8 is really crappy when it comes to updating and patching to the point where it will keep searching for any available patches and does not notify you to go ahead and update, or it will never download/install the available updates. Many Windows 8 & 8.1 users have this problem, including myself. It's just one of those things that is wrong with Windows 8 with Microsoft aware of it, but never really provided a permanent solution for it.

- If you ever get to the point where it finds available updates to download, try installing each patch that it list one at a time to see if that allows you to install it with that method.

- You can also try going to the Microsoft website and try to download and install it by each patch individually. Just type in the patch number available that you need on the Microsoft website, and it should give you the option to manually download it and install it.

- If either of those do not work, it's possible that upgrading to Windows 10 or downgrading to a previous operating system like Windows 7 would be your last resort. The only problem is that is that Windows 7 is no longer a supported operating system according to Microsoft. So unless you have a legitimate license for Windows 7, then support for a non-genuine copy of Windows 7 won't be supported. Windows 10 is still fairly new and proper system drivers may not be available for Rumble Fighter to work correctly. But, the good thing is that legitimate copies can be downloaded and installed for free for all user who have genuine copies of either Windows 7, 8, or 8.1.

Yeah. It happened to me too when my Visual Studio was open.

 

I updated it and it still says Windows 8.1 even though it took almost all night to update.

 

How do I do this I don't even know where to start

 

Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 are similar operating systems but are a bit different.
