Nobody ever spoke of this when there's lag

When 2 players experience lag in a Peer2Peer connection, both will experience difficulties fighting each other. One player will stop trying, one will try to fight under the lag. The person who tries to fight under the lag will be blamed for exploiting the lag.


I'm surprised nobody, if not rarely anybody ever speaks about this

 

Lag doesn't always benefit the lagger, it sometimes the other way around. Laggers usually spam and not try wait until they see other.

Forced lag and unintentional lag are clearly different and the latter is usually the situation you described, but with some players the unintentional lag gives them a huge advantage
