Surface laptop, XPS 13/15, or Pixelbook (chromeOS). All have sales going on for Father's day and you can get a student discount on top of that from Best Buy. Do not buy from HP, or Lenovo. You want a laptop with at least an i5. Congrats on the job! IT is the best field. Since starting in January, I now work from home at least 2x a week and am only on call once a month. I have owned pretty much all the flagship laptops and the pixelbook is by far the most useful for my work. I'm able to run crostini via a container all the while able to run office applications (that are available in the play store). Sold my iPad pro cuz of this beast. i7/16GB/512GB

completely forgot about dell pcs ty but im assuming thats usd price which means thats like 1k cad & with that amount i feel like id rather just buy a new desktop im canadian idk what that is turn all my adblocks off and play a lot of flash games and watch hardcore p-..uppy videos dont ban me tyy & ya def wont make the mistake of buying hp ever again pure garbage i dont even wanna go near one anymore tbh im happy with my job its my first and its related to my major so its a good start also i was thinking of surface laptops but then realized what if i wanna video chat with ppl & i like working with the number pad as for the xps 13/15 they hella expensiveeeeee my bank's gonna go into the negatives tryna afford one lmao the pixelbook looks like a rich person's tablet LMAO ill get there one day but for now ill stick to trying to afford a laptop
