Heard rumors from way back that boxes were based on gold drop%, but it's only rumors. Never noticed any difference when opening on or off event tho.
I'm never lucky with those boxes, but people tend to open them at 3x3x3 mby cuz of drop rate... same as pigs.. on 2x2x2 u won't noticed item flow in Hefei... on 3x3x3 there was huge item flow... )
pigs you have to kill something like branches so of course they will be influenced by drop rate. boxes aren't a drop
