What To Do If You Are Being DDoS'd

*Most important thing to know is that no software is required*

Step 1
Start up Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer - whatever browser you use.

Step 2
In the search bar put "192.168.1.1"

Step 3
For admin: Put admin or whatever phrase you have set it to. For Password: put password, if that is what you have set up.

Step 4
Depending on what service provide you have, which in this case i have Netgear - you're going to want to find internet settings.

Step 5
Scroll down till you see "Router Mac Address"

You Will Have 3 options:

Use Default Address
Use Computer MAC Address
Use This MAC Address
You're going to want to bubble "Use This Mac Address"

Step 6
Change your mac address, so say if i have "f2:13:24:71:21:35" you can change what ever numbers you like,but DON'T add numbers to your mac address.. It will not work. This will be my new mac address ===>"E7:52:14:69:32:2D" See how i changed the numbers? And added some letters?

*If your mac address isn't working when you change it, try reloading the page and try changing a few numbers not all of them.*

Step 7
After that you're going to want to apply settings.. It should go to an updating screen or whatever..

Step 8
Once that is done unplug your router and your modem.. Or turn both off.. whatever you want to do.

Step 9
Leave it off for about 1-5 minutes.

Step 10
Plug everything back in and this should have ending the DDoS!

How does this work?
After you changed your mac address, applied the settings, and turn of your router and modem its changing you IP address, since the person is using your current IP address, which was changed doing this process, you are given a new IP address when you turn your router and modem on

*If you're IP is static though, then nothing can be done except for contacting your Internet Service Provider*

Sadly my company is retarded and has fixed mac addresses sent with their routers. I'd leave them if they didn't have such a great connection.

 

Dang that sucks, but from what I've seen EU/ASIA has some of the best internet speeds in the world.

 

500 mb/s down and 50 mb/s up. Pretty good, but still costs me $80 a month.

 

So I have comcast which is terrible in it's own right. We even have their "blast" service too. Right now I am getting 35.6 mb/s down and 12 mb/s up. How pathetic is that. We pay nearly $200 because it's a packaged deal.

 

$200? WDF, I pay combined $130 for 3 house phones, like 400+ HD TV channels and my internet.

 

lawl Comcast is a major rip off but because they're such a monopoly, and they don't want to set up the fiber optics, we're stuck with them.

 

Yea I've heard of Comcast from some of my buds back in the states, only heard bad stuff.

 

For the most part yeh. If I could, I would jump right to google fiber.
