Maybe I'm missing the bigger picture,
But I think it kind of hinders discussion when forum posts
made to discuss things are closed from people discussing
    further in them.

Recently(about a week ago) made a post about switching Kingpins bad current
stance to the previous better stance but It was closed eventually.
Yeah It did get alot of good discussion going and the poll was really
pushing towards the Yes lets fix this scroll option but
I feel now that it's closed eventually the post will be swept
    under the rug.

Threads get closed and/or deleted if they are old, derailed, toxic, or answered.- GMGourdy

Make a new thread and make a link that connects to the previous thread to continue the discussion.

    Otherwise forget about it. o_O

If I see that people haven't replied to it in a while, I assume it's already left people's minds. I tend to give it a good two days of inactivity before I'll lock old things. A re-occurring issue was reviving flame threads especially.

I looked into the thread you were referring to: http://forums.playredfox.com/index.php?threads/bring-back-classic-kingpin-stance.2582/ The last message was on Thursday, and I'm pretty certain I locked it on Monday. Additionally, the last message on that thread looked like flame/flame bait. The thread was on topic for the first page, then the second page is mostly derailment.

If you would like to reference that thread in the future, you could link it for your poll results and what not, but otherwise, the thread was more so a yes/no question thread, and I didn't see much more room for discussion on that matter. ELIXA, I am sorry if I pre-maturely closed your thread. If you would like your thread to be re-opened, I can do that for you.

But to everyone regarding the the issue of locking older forum posts, please know this is the mindset and issues that we come across.

At least we don't have trolls bringing threads back from the dead anymore. I noticed all of the earlier threads (when forum had just opened) were locked awhile ago. I just assumed it was automated (bc it should be). Also noticed all of the cloaked free posting threads / "games" (e.g "Hey guise lets count to infinity XD" ) were locked too.

    I see
It could also be the possibility that the thread I made
has recently had a new sub forum made that It would be more
suitable for, the Suggestions> Scrolls thread.

@[GM]Gourdy I hope you dont start locking threads in the suggestions section. Those threads should get a pass considering that people actually put work into them and it would **** for them to not be able to edit or update their work.

I for one like the idea of closing old or derailed threads. It's done on a lot of populated forums to prevent necroing and other obvious reasons. Keep it up, Gourdy [IMG]

What's in the past is in the past.
There is really no need for anyone to comment on an old post trying to revive it.
