So I've done the dumb and attached crappy ornaments to my gear. I read from the guide in here that I need to buy a separation tool to replace them with better ones, but I can't, for the death of me, find it in any shops nor are any players selling them. Where do I find them?

Do we have some sort of general instructions for the worth of items? I've seen people selling 255 BE for 10m and 100m. There doesn't seem to be any consistency on item prices.

What do I benefit from joining a band? I've found that often in MMORG's joining any clan/team/faction requires monetary contribution, gear giving and more dedication to the game, where I've honestly just enjoyed the game alone for all this time. I don't mind playing with other people, I just wouldn't want to contribute to something that I can't provide.

Those tools are around 500 mil, so my advice unless you have a repel weapon dont use the separation tool

Market is inflated, so prices are all over the place.

It really depends on the band your are joining. I think most bands here are willing to help new players.

Separation Tools are hideously expensive if you buy them from players. Unless you plan on spending real money (and unless your weapon is completely awesome and you plan on keeping it long term) I would look into getting a new weapon rather than spend the money on a tool (especially since the tool only removes one ornament per tool, so you would need multiple tools running into the upper 9-lower 10 figures in gold).

I buy BE occasionally and I would not pay any more than about 30 mil for a stack (255 BEs), usually I find it in the 20-25 mil range (the price has been slowly creeping down lately). Finding specific items you want, when you want them, and for the price you want them is a crap shoot (as in craps played at a crooked casino that loads the dice in their favor :( ). If the auctioneer function in game worked better and was not such a ripoff, buying and selling items would not be such a chore. But 9Dragons has had that problem since way back when Acclaim was running the show and they did not even bother with an Auctioneer.

As for bands, there are concrete advantages in joining one. You get a band buff of varying strength depending on what attributes the Band Master chooses to pick and how good the band is. Unlike when the game was more populated, the other benefits of joining a band are less present these days. If you find a strong band to join, you might find more help in game and maybe grinding partners and help dungeon running. For the most part, however, 9Dragons is not quite the game it once was in relation to the band element. With each different company that has taken over the game, it has lost players and become a little less of what it was originally meant to be.

Thanks for a solid, long answer.

I attached the stuff to some L100 gear that I got, plus the dragon statue weapon that I've been using for a while. I believe I'll be getting better ones later, so investing that much money is not worth my time now.

I actually used to participate in the beta back in the Acclaim days, but had to quit due issues in social life at the time. The fond memories I had were the reason why I wanted to rediscover this game.

    See you around.
