10 Day Rule

So you won't ban scammers now, but you also aren't getting rid of the 10 day rule?

Atm I'm making an assumption because in the update notes there isn't anything said about it going back to the way it was.
So I can only assume that they are making it so you have to wait 10 days to get scammed.

 

The rule is stupid either way.

Shouldn't have to wait 10 days to trade someone.

 

It's not really meant to help us. They don't endorse trading hence why they will not punish scammers. The 10-day rule was implemented in order to protect Redfox from having experiencing another Virtu fiasco. He used a stolen credit card to gift multiple users and Redfox couldn't really determine who did what so they banned anyone that received a gift or had purchased made with the stolen credit card. Bans were later reversed and they implemented the rule as a result.

 

yeah the 10 day rule is to protect people from that stolen credit card gifting frenzy that was getting everyone screwed.

So yeah, the 10 day rules makes a bit of sense. But 10 days could be a bit of a stretch in terms of time. What about 5 days? What about 3 days? It could be shorter.

Unless 10 days is deliberate, and if so, I'm so confused about that.

 

Yeah I agree, a 5 day wait would be much better

 

Might be the average amount of time it could take someone to find out they lost their card, report it to the bank, and have the card cancelled. I think a week would be fine instead of 10 days tho

Actually it all depends on the credit card company. For instance with my chase card, if I chargeback or dispute a charge, I'll receive the funds within a couple hours. My Best Buy card however, they'll take up to 3 days.

If you add someone to your buddy-list, yes you must wait 10 days before you're able to gift them.

 

i think of it like this who are u really trying to gift asap unless for user events ? idk man i never wasnt into making rooms looking for trades in first place. them 10 days are 10 days for you to be like " do i really trust this niga?" no you dont lmfao so trade the bro or fam you know thats going to have your back.Is 10 days a lot? hell ye it is but aye man in those 10 days you better know who to trust and not to trust. hope we get shorter time but for now host private events or listed events with bigger prizes in gifting and be more organized with it in general.

 

So can you avoid the process by just gifting and not adding someone?

 

That wouldn't work because you wouldn't be able to Gift said person unless he/she has been on your buddy list for more than 10 days
