Scenarios I need help on: -When omni grab user lands a counter -When omni grab user lands a jump attack on wake-up -When omni grab user is facing your back I'm just getting back into the 1 v 1 scene and these omni grab scrolls really mess up my sideblock strategies real hard.
-When omni grab user lands a counter Theres no escaping. Chaining a grab after a sucessful (normal) counter is easy. On the plus side, most newer scrolls dont have default counters, but rather counters that drop u on the ground. -When omni grab user lands a jump attack on wake-up U dont have to use the recovery attacks. With some timing u can do a wake up counter or alternatively u can press direction and hold guard button. If u pull those off it will leave the enemy either open for grabbing or hitting (or trading hits at least). If u do those a few times the enemy will have to adapt and will use less jump attacks. -When omni grab user is facing your back Similar to the previous question - stand up and immediately punch. Using recovery roll might be a bad idea against experienced people. A few words about the grabs - the game is pretty much rock-paper-scissor, aka hit(punch/kick)>grab>counter>hit. If u r against a grab-happy opponent just pressure him with delays. If hes throwing too many counters then grabbing, u can just drift or do something that u dont usually do (like doing a slide, then grab, instead of trying to hit) to throw him off. Leave him guessing a few times and he will either (1) adapt his style or (2) keep doing his stuff. (1) means less counters, which is what u want. (2) means that his lack of skill is forcing him to do the same things over and over. The moment u start seeing his attack patterns is the moment u start wiping the floor with him.
Well if you know you're gonna get grabbed anyway, grab so both attempts to grab cancel out. Omni grabs after a counter = doomed. No way to avoid them unless they delay them.
